![]() Do you know how much energy your appliances use? Tupelo Water & Light Department calculates your electric bill by how many kilowatt hours (kWh) you use each month. One kilowatt hour is equivalent to operating a 100-watt light bulb for 10 hours. Use the chart below to get an idea of how much energy each
appliance uses. To determine an average monthly charge, multiply the kWh
per month times .06, the average cost of a kilowatt hour. This will help
you determine the average cost of operating your appliances each month,
but, remember that other factors can affect how much energy your appliances
use, including its location and how the appliance is used.
