From healthcare to education, tourism to economic development, Tupelo is a diverse and progressive city that is moving confidently and energetically into the 21st Century. "I have always taken great pride in saying that I am from Tupelo, Mississippi. The folks in the town that raised me have done just about everything right and have justly earned the label of 'model city.' Tupelo is recognized around the world as the birthplace of Elvis Presley. The small, shotgun house where Elvis was born, and the adjacent Elvis Presley Museum and memorial chapel, draw nearly 100,000 visitors each year. They are centerpieces of Tupelo's $46 million tourism and hospitality industry.

A major part of this growing industry is the scenic and historic Natchez Trace Parkway. Tupelo is the headquarters of this elongated national park that stretches from Natchez, Mississippi to Nashville, Tennessee. Here, visitors discover the natural beauty of Northeast Mississippi and the history of the Chickasaw Indians and the region's early travelers.

The Tupelo Automobile Museum was especially designed to display over 100 antique and classic cars. The collection was put together to illustrate the advancement of the automotive body and mechanical designs from the late 1800’s forward. These include steam and electric vehicles of the late 1800’s and early 1900’s to the various advancements such as pneumatic tires, electric starters and numerous attempts to find a replacement for the manual transmission. The first car, a single cylinder vehicle begins the progression through 2,4,6,8,10,12, and 16 cylinders.


The Birthplace of Elvis Presley in Tupelo, Mississippi is the only location in the world where you can see, feel and touch where the King of Rock & Roll began his musical journey.		The Tupelo Automobile Museum offers classics such as Packards, Cadillacs, Dusenbergs, a Tucker, plus other American and foreign makes and models are featured. One of a kind vehicles and celebrity vehicles.
